IF YOU’RE PLANNING A WEDDING AT OSEA ISLAND IN ESSEX, YOU’LL LOVE THIS WEDDING FOR INSPIRATION

Rupert & Kerri chose the incredible Osea Island to hold their wedding celebrations. You'll find Osea Island in the estuary of the River Blackwater, off the coast of Essex. Who knew! To access the island you navigate your way across the bumpy tidal causeway where you'll find a selection of seabirds picking their way through the low tide flats. The island boasts stunning ocean views and makes you feels so far away from home . It was the most beautiful wedding weekend full of parties, music, games, BBQ's and quizzes. Guests stayed on the island and explored on bicycles and swam in sea. It was the perfect weekend wedding.

The ceremony

The ceremony was held on the main lawns by the sea, it was pretty windy but that just added to the island experience.

During the ceremony close friends read emotional readings & everyone sang along with the brass band. It was really funny as no one sang together, after a few attempts they all nailed it. The ceremony area was decorated with simple white flowers. Kerri & her bridesmaids had colourful bouquets to match the orange and blue theme.

Why Osea Island is a great place to get married

Osea Island is really peaceful and secluded, and is one of the nicest places to get married in Essex. The venue offers onsite accommodation so guests don’t have to travel home – and there are so many beautiful spots that are perfect for photos.

The reception

After the ceremony guests where offered delicious BBQ'd canapés & champagne. There was Archery & Axe throwing to entertain the guests while we cracked on with some lovely family shots as the sun started to set. Das Brass played some awesome tunes throughout the wedding day.

As we sneaked off for a few relaxed couple shots, the guests made there way over to The Bomb Shelter for the sit down meal. For dinner they had proper wedding grub, anti Asti sharing platters and steak! The best man had everyone in ditches with his outlandish speech, I could stop myself from crying with laughter!

The first dance was outside to their favourite tunes by the band. Absolutely incredible. They finished off the evening drinking home made cocktails & dancing to their favourite DJ. They partied all night covered in glitter and fancy dress. THE BEST!
